Obligatory payments
APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance): 30% of the charter fee
VAT 13% of the charter fee
APA covers various costs, including, but not limited to, fuel for the main engines and generators. Additionally, it includes fuel for the tender and water sports equipment. Furthermore, food and beverages for the Charter Party are covered, along with port fees and entrance fees for national and nature parks. Moreover, it includes shipping agents’ fees, customs fees, and charter licenses, especially if cruising in Montenegro or Italy. In addition, APA covers other costs for services requested by the Charter Party, such as the hire or purchase of special equipment placed on board at the Charterer’s request. Also, shoreside transport, excursions, and activities—like scuba diving, big game fishing, and rafting—are included as part of the allowance.
Note: Gratuities/tips for the crew are not included. The industry standard is 5% to 15% of the base charter rate, given at the Charterer’s discretion.
